Simply through word of mouth, what started out as a bucket list birthay gift to myself has blossomed into a gravel ride adventure for a small group of WABbits (So far, 8 WABbits have registered). Since there seems to be a lot of interest, I thought I'd send out the details of this trip to all, in case anyone else might want to join us.
The Katy Trail is a 238-mile long rail trail in Missouri, and it's America's longest rail trail. This tour covers about 180 miles of the former Missouri- Kansas- Texas (MKT) Railroad Corridor from St. Charles to Augusta.
The tour operator is Road Scholar, a non-profit organization (founded as
Elderhostel in 1975) focused on providing learning adventures for older adults. I, personally, have never travelled with Road Scholar, but I know people who have, and they all rave about their programs. I am so excited to be able to explore this trail in the company of my WAB friends! The tour dates are Sept.25 - Oct. 2, 2027.
