Following up on Rick Nevins’ “WAB Alewerks B Ride” report, the nine of us who rode the B+ route agree that Saturday was a beautiful, summer-like day. Using Mooretown and Centerville to and from Alewerks, we rode one loop (around Little Creek Reservoir, through Carwash both ways) and an out-and-back to the farm at the bottom of Bush Neck Road. We highly recommend the latter route, as the four-mile ride from Jolly Pond to Bush Neck Farm and back is almost traffic-free and heavily forested. Unlike the B group, most of the B+ cyclists apparently did not have any Easter weekend commitments – we must live to ride – so eight of the nine stayed afterwards to enjoy some beer and food at Alewerks. Joining me on the ride were Richard Armstrong, Natalie Barron, Dave Belvin, Helene Drees, Robert Drees, Douglas Forst, Donna Moyer, and Brian Murphy. Perhaps you are thinking, with that grouping, speed must have come into play. However, we finished the ride somewhere in a sedate, low to mid-17 range.
