Blue Ridge Parkway

I am particulary interested in the BRP from Afton to Lynchburg, which missed the hurricane

Ken McFarland quoted the notice you referenced, but if you click the "more" link, you'll see a photo of Gooch Gap. Not even pedestrians are going to cross that!
Considering how close the Parkway runs to Asheville, Blowing Rock, Pisgah, and others in the news, I would expect a fair number of less dramatic places than Gooch Gap that need to be checked. Too bad: a Parkway without cars would be heavenly!

The full length of the parkway is closed to all uses due to damage from Hurricane Helene. Closures will remain in place until staff can safely assess the park and clear any storm damage. The park will issue updates as they are available. (10/3)

Seems pretty clear to me.

I've read the entire Blue Ridge Parkway is closed to motorists due to Helene destruction in SW Va and NC.  But does that include cyclists?
