Wednesday 8/16 C Pace York-05 was created by Jim Gullo (jgullo)
Greetings,

Martha and I have planned our first "away game" for the  Wednesday C pace group to . We will use the 31 mile York-05 route.

NOTE: A PORTION OF THE COLONIAL PARKWAY WILL BE CLOSED. THE BEST WAY TO GET TO THE YORKTOWN BATTLEFILELD VISTORS CENTER IS 64 EAST TO EXIT 250B. TAKE FT EUSTIS BLVD (105) TO 17 NORTH. THEN TURN ON COOK ROAD AND STAY STRAIGHT INTO THE YORKTOWN BATTLEFIELD VISITORS CENTER PARKING LOT.
The ride will start at 9:05am to 9:10am from the Yorktown Battlefield Visitors Center. The visitors center opens at 9:00am, so I am starting a bit later to allow folks time to use the restroom.

This ride is one of the flattest routes I will be doing, except near mile 30 that has one killer hill! Plus, no riding on the Colonial Parkway!

We will have one rest stop at mile 15. Please bring cash as they do not accept credit cards for purchases under $4.00. We are permitted to use the rest room   and I have checked that they know we are coming on Wednesday.

Also, the lunch option is at mile 30 and will be at Mojack Coffee Roasters. I have attached the menu in this the MB announcement. Martha and I went there today and they have delicious  food, drinks and sweets.

Finally, I checked in with the National Park Service at the Visitors Center. There is no need to get a sticker to ride the section through the battlefield area. If you have a NPS pass, please bring it Each person with a pass can take 3 more people with them. I do not believe we will have a problem, more like a "don't ask, don't tell" policy!

I hope to see everyone this Wednesday!
