CANCELLED DUE TO WET FORECAST
The "Waverly Ride" has been a monthly ride on the 2nd Saturday of the month since the 1990s, along wonderfully flat, rural roads with very little traffic. In recent years, it's become a joint WAB / RABA ride. This month, the ride begins at 9:30 AM Saturday, December 14.
We’re calling the ride a Swamp Tour! The 43 mile ride will featuring homemade Christmas cookies at the rest stop. The Swamp Tour 43 cue sheet is in the WAB ride library. RABA member Sara Page will lead the B-pace group. Andy Ballentine will lead the C-pace group.
The ride begins and ends in the little town of Waverly, VA. Take the 8:10 AM ferry, go through the town of Surry, take a right on Rt. 10 and a left on Rt. 40 which takes you to Waverly. Park behind the closed restaurant, at the intersection of Rt. 40 and Rt. 460, on the left. After the ride many, from the group enjoy lunch together at Pino's in Waverly.
