The Monticello Avenue Multi-Use Trail is complete and open for use.  The 0.80-mile trail runs between Treyburn and Ironbound roads alongside Monticello Avenue, providing a safe path for running and cycling.  The nearly $1.6 million project was a joint effort between William & Mary and Williamsburg.

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 1 at 3 p.m. with Mayor Doug Pons and William & Mary President Katherine Rowe as speakers. Members of local cycling and running groups will also be in attendance.

Attendees are asked to park in the School of Education parking lot.  Ceremony will be at the corner of Monticello and Compton.

Rick Nevins and Jamie Clark will be there, representing WAB and PBA.  Jamie was also heavily involved in the construction on behalf of his job with the City of Williamsburg.
