2024 Tour de Chesapeake

Located in Mathews, VA, on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay, the Tour de Chesapeake cycling event offers rural, flat roads that all lead to water. There are 4 routes, each around 25 miles, which take cyclists from Gwynn's Island to Bethel Beach to the New Point Lighthouse. Each route has fully stocked rest stops (GREAT FOOD), SAG support and lovely views. The ride culminates on Saturday evening with a Seafood Feast and Party at historic Williams Wharf Landing. Registration fee $35.

This will be the 25th anniversary of this event. WAB usually has a sizeable contingent.

Pace for Rides:
A (20+ mph)
A- (18-20 mph)
B+ (16-18)
B (14-16)
C (12-14)
D (10-12)
Casual Up to 10 mph, with no one left behind

Please note that these are average speeds for the duration of the ride. If you are new to club rides and aren't sure what pace you can maintain, be conservative with your first ride! Direct all questions, cancellations or updates to our ride coordinator at ridecoordinator@wabonline.org

Helmets are required on all WAB rides.

Registration is required for all WAB rides. Pre-registration online accomplishes the following: 1) the ride leader and other participants know who is coming; 2) you are eligible for club insurance in the event of an accident (non-members 1st ride only); 3) you accept the risks involved in riding; 4) you provide necessary legal protection for club leadership and ride leaders, and 5) we have an easy means to communicate in event of a change or cancellation.
