Bruce is a lifetime cyclist and member of the Fredericksburg Cycling Club since 1996. He has been involved with the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail since 2005 and for the last two years, has helped volunteer with the September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance. Bruce served as a Scoutmaster of a Fredericksburg Scout Troop for 18 years and led 2 groups of Eagle Scouts on cross country bike trips in 2014 & 2018. In June 2022, Bruce organized and led a group of 25 cyclists on the entire September 11th National Memorial Trail, starting at the Pentagon Memorial in DC and biking up to the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA, then on to the Ground Zero Memorial in NYC before finishing back at the Pentagon Memorial, an 1,100 mile - 23 day bike tour. In 2023, Bruce will organize three events for this non-profit organization. The first will be the "Let's Roll" 12 Hour Endurance Ride to be held on the Dominion Raceway's 2-mile road course on Sunday May 28th. Next will be a bike tour from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia, a 15-day ride from June 20 - July 3, followed by a 5-day event starting in Harrisburg and biking a loop to Gettysburg and back on October 8-12. Bruce will talk about the September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance and these upcoming events.
